The Kellogg Company was an American multinational food manufacturing company headquartered in Battle Creek, Michigan, United States. Kellogg's produced cereal and convenience foods, including crackers and toaster pastries, and marketed their products by several well-known brands including Corn Flakes, Rice Krispies, Frosted Flakes, Pringles, Eggo, and Cheez-It. *Italian chocolatier Ferrero Group finalized its $3.1 billion acquisition of WK Kellogg Co in September 2025, taking over the North American cereal business (including Corn Flakes and Froot Loops). The deal makes the company a wholly owned subsidiary of Ferrero, which operates its North American cereal headquarters in Battle Creek, Michigan.
In the 1990s, Kellogg's prominently featured star athletes on their cereal boxes, most notably the 1992 U.S. Olympic "Dream Team" (Larry Bird, Karl Malone, David Robinson, Chris Mullin, John Stockton)
on Corn Flakes. Other notable 90s appearances included speed skater Bonnie Blair and trading cards featuring baseball greats like Willie Mays and Yogi Berra.
In 1996, Kellogg’s and partner brand Wheaties celebrated the Atlanta Summer Olympics with special edition cereal boxes featuring U.S. athletes, including sprinter Michael Johnson, the U.S. Women’s Gymnastics team (Magnificent Seven), and decathlete Dan O'Brien. Other 1996 cereal, such as Kellogg's Corn Flakes, honored athletes like Montreal Canadiens' Maurice Richard.
The Kellogg Company is historically and primarily headquartered in Battle Creek, Michigan. Founded there in 1906, it is known as “Cereal City”. Following recent corporate restructuring, the company also maintains significant corporate offices in Chicago, Illinois.
